La Huasteca

You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

You visit the earth and water it;
you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
you provide their grain,
for so you have prepared it.

You water its furrows abundantly,
settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
and blessing its growth.

You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.

The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
the hills gird themselves with joy,
their meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
the valleys deck themselves with grain,
they shout and sing together for joy.
-Psalm 65: 8b-13

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns. Ps 46: 4-5

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"
-John 7:37-38

Jumpin' off waterfalls. Riding in the back of a pick-up for 5 hours straight. Gorditas of all fillin's and sizes.

Yuker on a blanket. Billion star nights. Burnt marshmallows.

No showers for 5 days. Mexicans, French, Germans, Americans. Conversations about everything. Mosquito bites. Untouched paradise.
